Come for the beverages & atmosphere, stay for the food. Great spot summer & winter. Outside with a Lake peak view on the deck & upstairs bar in the winter. Genuinely good spot in SLT with a nice mix of tourists & locals.
We love it here! So much that we had our wedding reception at MacDuffs!!! The owners are amazingly accommodating, kind and generous. They set us up with Ayden, who coordinated and managed our event. They went above and beyond to make our vision come to life and then some! I highly, highly, highly recommend stopping by for the delicious, elevated pub fare, incredible beer and drink menus and warm/friendly atmosphere, but would also suggest holding your event here. It was perfect!
We ate hear twice during our stop in Lake Tahoe area nice atmosphere great food and service. Crazy large portion sizes
A great Irish style pub serving some very good hearty food cooked by what appears to be a Latin staff that knows how to cook the good stuff. Kudos to these chefs / cooks. The bars below and above on two floors provide an enthusiastic and energetic fun atmosphere! Must try if you have not been here. A plus to Lake Tahoe.
So we went there based on a reccomendation from hotel and some that live in the area. We had an assortment of things, cottage pie, shepards pie GF option, a sausage pizza, fish n chips, bacon mac n cheese, and a burger. So the cottage and shepards pie they enjoyed thoroughly, mac n cheese enjoyed, pizza, was enjoyed. However, fish n chips well heres where it went a little off. Fish was good the fries were dreadfully soggy and greasy. They were mealy mushy texture and just gross. Did not eat and just left them. Then theres the burger....burger was very underwhelming. There was no seasoning on it, it was just bland. Salt and pepper goes a very long way....then the mealy mushy grease sogged down fries...absolutely not good. Left half of burger and all the fries. I had a better burger at 5 guys to be honest. In photos it looks great. Maybe stick to the irish fare and get a better experience? As for the atmosphere, it was noisy, and we felt we had to speak to one another louder than you'd expect over a dinner table. I've been to allot of restaurants in my travels, I feel there are better experiences to be had elsewhere.
Al fresco and inside seating. British pub fare. They will also cook YOUR catch of the day. Best fish meal I've had in a long time. Fish is prepared three ways - blackened, fried, and grilled with a dill sauce. Served with French fries, veggies, and a salad. Drop off your catch at least 2 hours before you plan on dining. They open at 11 AM for dropoff and lunch.
We were so excited that this place would prepare and serve our fresh catch of fish, and they did a great job, however, our food came and our drink order never came, until we reminded another server and also, I personally felt the wait person we had as well as other waitstaff were quite improperly dressed to serve food. Low, low cut top, armpits showing, and short, short skirts, not attractive. The manager was kind enough to comp our drinks, after we were charged for a margarita we never received so, that was cool. Anyway, the food was great.
We were turned onto this place by our guide who mentioned that if we caught fish, we could bring it here and have it cooked. Note that you must drop off your fish and make a reservation for at least 2 hours later. Pros: awesome atmosphere - good music and environment. Well seasoned and cooked fish, they cooked our fish in three different ways. The fries are solid (crispy & properly salted). Cons: Lots of alcohol options, however not really any options for mocktails which is kinda disappointing for our non alcohol members. Staff was attentive however seemed to forget one member of our party when it came to ordering food and drinks. Despite this we would return again. Seeing all the positive reviews its very likely our experience is not what the average experience is. I recommend trying this restaurant for yourself and make your own judgements.
